In a different land, Filipinos are among the most law-abiding people.
Authorities in Abu Dhabi has revealed that Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) commit the least number of violations among its citizens.
According to a report from the Filipino Times, a Filipino newspaper in UAE, last October 23, local officials in Abu Dhabi said that Filipinos were identified as among the most law-abiding people in their land. This, the Abu Dhabi during a townhall meeting said, indicates the Filipinos’ “utmost respect for the laws of the host country.”
“Filipinos commit the least number of crimes here in the UAE,” Lt. Col. Al Neyadi said without going through the specifics.
This was revealed during an event organized by the Bayanihan Council and the Abu Dhabi authorities held at the Abu Dhabi Headquarters Auditorium last October 9. It was attended by 100 community leaders.
The Abu Dhabi authorities extended their appreciation to the “overwhelming support and attendance from the Embassy, POLO-OWWA, and to the Filipino community.
The Bayanihan Council in Abu Dhabi said the “forum enlightened relevant questions and opened up our desire to volunteer and help make Abu Dhabi maintain its peace, securirty, and happiness.” It was the first-ever Filipino Community Forum with the city’s authorities.
It can be recalled that a Filipina was honored by authorities in Dubai, UAE last September for being honest after returning a bag full of money to its owner.
