Lawyer Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon has voluntarily suspended himself from the practice of law even though he hasn’t received a copy of the Supreme Court Ruling suspending him for three months yet, a story from Journal says.
Gadon personally went to the Supreme Court and brought the letter stating that he voluntarily suspends himself from the practice of law staring October 24, 2019, to January 25, 2020, to comply with the Order as per Administrative Case, AC 11810, dated June 26, 2019.
The lawyer wrote that he has learned about the suspension through national news broadcast over several major television channels, radio and newspapers.
Though he hasn’t received a copy of the Ruling yet, Gadon said he abides with the suspension; adding that he respectfully and sincerely apologizes to the Supreme Court for whatever dem
eanor that he has committed leading to the suspension.
The case stemmed from a dis
barment complaint filed by a dermatologist against him after he purportedly “unilaterally suspended” her from a h ealth care institute without consulting the board of directors.
In a letter dated April 23, 2009, Gadon said he wanted the dermatologist out of the facility by saying they can hire a doctor of the same specialization as competitor.
The lawyer went popular for shouting “b
obo” numerous times on the street and media interview. At that time, he was serving as the petitioner’s counsel in the impeachment case against former chief justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Gadon said, as per Inquirer, that his suspension is nothing compared to being kic
ked out as chief justice of the Supreme Court.
He said that he was amused that his suspension turned into a national issue while some lawyers who got disbarred or suspended for longer years did not merit any public attention.
