Ahead of the Miss Universe 2019 pageant, Philippines’ bet Gazini Ganados has already bagged two international awards.
Ganados was recently recognized by the United Nations and the ASEAN Youth for her contribution in the youth sector, peace and social movement, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and elderly care, a report said.
The beauty queen from Talisay, Cebu was given the ASEAN Youth Leadership Award 2019 and ASEAN Youth Icon Award 2019 from the Global Youth Parliament and the United Nations.
It was reported that Dr. Daniel Dasig Jr., the Global Youth Parliament Country Coordinator, conferred the awards to the 23-year-old beauty queen during an event with the elderly at Luwalhati Ng Maynila Home for the Aged in Marikina City.
Ganados, who advocates for elderly care, has been publicly expressing her stand on the country’s health care for the elderly after witnessing how her late grandmother struggled from getting the health care she needed.
“We’re all going to get old in the near future. If we take steps to help our elderly now, we will also be able to save our future, because the laws we pass today might benefit us when we get older. Yes, the children are our future. But always remember that the elders paved the way,” Ganados said in one of her interviews.
Reports say, the awards were handed over to the Miss Universe Philippines title holder ahead of the original schedule slated for the ASEAN Global Youth Summit on November 30 at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel as the beauty queen will have to leave the country for the United States to compete in the Miss Universe 2019 on December 9.
Blessings are pouring, Miss Ganados. Congratulations!
