- The courier company said it was just an ‘isolated case’
- Proper sanctions will be handed out to the personnel involved
MANILA, Philippines – The courier company involved in the viral video showing its staff mishandling parcels for delivery has apologized after netizens were irked by the alleged incident.
Earlier, a user uploaded on social media a video showing some delivery staff of J&T Express casually throwing packages inside the truck. It has since gone viral and widely shared by displeased netizens.
“While most people lose their jobs because of the pandemic, here comes the irresponsible workers who set aside the fact that they are fortunate enough to keep theirs,” one commenter said.
“Hope that this won’t happen again because we entrusted our parcel in your hands the moment we press the check out button,” added another.
In a statement on Facebook, J & T Express said the company do not tolerate such behavior and they are taking responsibility for the incident.
The courier company also assured the public that what happened was just an ‘isolated case.’
“All of our facilities, including our branches and warehouses across the country, are under 24/7 monitoring. We also follow strict protocols in handling the shipments and ensure that these are handled with proper care,” the statement read.
J & T Express added that the personnel involved have already been identified and appropriate sanctions will be meted out accordingly.
“We thank all individuals, especially our customers and employees, for their continuous and trust and support. As a way of showing our gratitude, we are planning to provide incentives for such actions,” it added.
