A Quiet Place’ at ‘The Purge’.

“Making a ‘dystopian horror movie’ about a horror that is real and happening RIGHT NOW is so tone deaf. And so not what people need. So many people have lost jobs, livelihoods and loved ones due to COVID, and everyone’s life has been severely effected. Bad, bad, bad move.”

“We are still in this pandemic. That is still killing hundreds of people daily. People are jobless and homeless. In real life. And ppl are being shot in the streets. Making a film to profit off something that is causing suffering all over the world right now is actually offensive.”

“Talk about pure bad taste. Let’s make make (sic) a movie about a family dying from COVID while your REAL family is dying from COVID. Yeah, this is exactly what people need, a cinematic reminder that having hope is pointless and we should just give in to misery and death. God d–n!”

“This movie is so in extremely poor taste & I can’t even believe that this movie is coming out when cases are skyrocketing, hospitalizations are going back up & after so many people lost their lives to this virus,” one person said. “This is so very disgusting, very disrespectful & very insensitive!!”
