Allan K couldn’t help but be emotional as he recalled the turbulent 2020 he had.
While we often see the comedian giving us a good laugh, Allan K was in tears as he shared how he survived a very challenging year for her. Allan K appeared on Eat Bulaga’s Bawal Judgmental segment which featured “Dabarkads” who survived COVID-19.
Allan K shared that he never expected that he would be infected with the virus. He said his early symptoms were high fever, and loss of taste and smell. He broke down as he recalled how he was in denial that he had COVID-19 because he already had a difficult year.
“In denial ako na mako-COVID ako, kasi nung magsimula ang 2020, masyado nang maraming hindi maganda na nangyari sa buhay ko,” Allan K said.
He recalled losing both his youngest sibling and his sister who lived with him for 17 years before returning to their hometown Bacolod. He also had to shut down his comedy bars Klownz and Zirkoh during this pandemic.
When he was admitted in a hospital in Pasig City, he recalled how devastated he felt upon learning he tested positive for COVID-19. “Parang binagsakan ako ng mundo. Parang, ano ba? Ano ba ‘to? Hindi pa tapos ‘yung taon,” Allan K recalled.
He shared that holding on to his faith helped him get through his battle with COVID-19.
Allan K shared, “Nung nanumbalik ‘yung wisyo ko, lumabas ‘yung pagka-Kristiyano ko. Kumapit ako sa favorite Bible verse ko — Exodus 15:26. Ang sabi nun, ‘I am the God that healeth thee.’ Alam n’yo, maya’t maya ko ‘yan sinasabi, ‘Lord you are the God that heals me, you just say the word and you will heal my disease.’”
In the end, Allan K said everything that happened to him was a test of faith.
