High-speed ferry na gawa sa Pilipinas naglayag na patungong Denmark

Ang Fjord FSTR, isang high-speed catamaran ferry na ipinagawa ng isang Norwegian shipping company sa  Austal Philippines shipyard sa Cebu, ay naglayag na patungo sa Hirtshal,  Denmark noong March 5, 2021.

Bagama’t ipinagawa ng Norwegian company ang high-speed ferry, maglalayag iyon sa ilalim ng watawat ng Denmark.

Ang paglulunsad ng high-speed ferry ay kaalinsabay ng 75th anniversary ng Philippine-Denmark diplomatic relations.

“The delivery of the ship is a significant milestone as it is the first wholly constructed ship in the Philippines to carry passengers and cargoes in Denmark. It also reflects the vibrant relations between our two countries,” pahayag ni Philippine Ambassador to Denmark Leo M. Herrera-Lim.

Ang Fjord FSTR ay mapapabilang sa fleet ng Norwegian shipping company na Fjord Line na nag-o-operate ng ferry services sa pagitan ng Norway, Denmark at Sweden.

Ayon kay Austal Philippines president Wayne Murray, tinatayang 1,000 Pinoy workers ang naging bahagi ng pangkat na gumawa ng high-speed ferry.

“I am exceptionally proud of the entire Austal Philippines team. The launch of Hull 419 (Fjord FSTR) from our newly expanded shipyard is a significant event that highlights our capability to deliver multiple vessel projects concurrently – safely and cost effectively,” sabi ni Murray.

Kayang magsakay ng 1,200 passengers at 400 sasakyan ang Fjord FSTR. Tampok din sa ferry ang tatlong restaurant, cafe, bistro, children’s area at duty-free shop.
